<title>[22/02/12 12:41:51] BKC Miniatures - American tank markings - Posted by big dave</title>
<description>I bought some Pendraken decals to use on my new American tanks, I was expecting to get white stars but in the pack there are only yellow and black, I've done some research and found reference to the occasional use of yellow stars but no reference to the use of black starts:

 http://www.stugiii.com/images/US_Vehicle_Markings.pdfhttp://www.stugiii.com/images/US_Vehicle_Markin...

The tanks are for use in the Ardennes.

<description>Tried to find this from previous threads but no difinitive answer.

Yesterday a British FAO was overun by a PzII - with no hits scored at all. Hence the FAO doesn't have to retreat.

So what happens - do they both sit there staring at each other whilst the FAO continues calling up the guns??? [:X]

I can't seem to find the answer...

<title>[18/02/12 17:43:55] BKC House Rules - Engineers and hidden minefields - Posted by Cross698</title>
<description>Has anyone allowed enginners a chance of detecting hidden minefields when moving, whether on foot or on vehicles?

I had thought of allowing the possibility, if the player declares before each move and deduct 5 cm from the movement (even in vehicles)and roll under the command value of the HQ? Or should it be less? If I was umpiring then this would be a hidden roll by me.

 Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

<title>[18/02/12 11:54:24] BKC Miniatures - 1/144 scale BKC planes - Posted by madaxeman</title>
<description>There seems to be a rash of the pre-made 1/144 scale Altaya bombers coming onto eBay at the moment - I've just picked up a LeO 451 to be the bomber in my Early War French army, but there are loads of them out there, from the more usual He 111s and B24's to strange Italian and Japanese stuff .

I've also set up a page on my website that skims the listings of all the Altaya planes off of UK eBay and collects them in one place if anyone else is looking - this is the link for the [url=http://www.madaxeman.com/auction_listing/144_scale_aircraft_auction_listings.php]Altayahttp://www.madaxeman.com/auction_listing/144_sc... <title>[18/02/12 10:39:08] CWC Miniatures - Heroics and Ros BV206s and Bv206Ss - Posted by julesav</title>
<description>Hi guys

I've finally taken delivery of some of the new Heroics and Ros BV206s and I just thought I'd say that they are lovely models! I'm not sure that they were worth the 15-20 year wait I had for someone to finally sculpt them but they are finally available and very, very pretty!

The BVs are both 3 piece models (Cab, armoured linkage, and trailer unit) - with the BV206S adding an MG cupola to the cab roof.

Also wanted to mention that the turn-around on the H&amp;R order was swift and efficient.

 Cheers

 Jules

<title>[16/02/12 14:12:51] BKC Battles, Scenarios &amp; Campaigns - New BKC Campaign - did we get it right? - Posted by alphus</title>
<description>Hi

We tried our first steps in using the generic campaign engine from the Downloads section of the site for a 1941 North Africa Campaign but weren't sure we'd done stuff right – any comments would be much appreciated:

we started a points pool of 4,000 points for a campaign of 5 battles.

We'd decided to fight attack/defense games at 2,500 vs 1250 points and equal points battles at 1750 pnts.

Our first game was rolled up as River Assault (well, maybe Wadi Assault...), I was defending as Germans and my opponent lost 20% of his 2,500 pnt force for a minor victory on my part.

Consequently, he subtracts his 20% = 500 pnts points from his total of 4,000 so his force pool now stands at 3,500.

As I didn't lose any units, my force pool still stands at 4,000

It would seem from the chart that I threw 25% of starting points (1,000) to spend on reinforcements - but they don't go on to the table but into the force pool, so battles – as long as you have troops to draw on – will still be fairly set up in terms of points.

Sadly for him, after taking a drubbing on the field, my opponent, Steve, rolled no reinforcements.

So, we go on the the next battle and as it's Att/Def I can take up to 2,500 as attacking troops from my pool (with the usual army list restrictions) and he can take the full 50% of that from your pool = 1,250.

 Subsequent Scenario Selection
We played that when we went on to the second column in the Campaign scenario selection chart (we rolled low) that we then rolled to select from _all_ the scenarios in the column – but as River Assault had been the first scenario, should we have stayed on that row for selection of all battles in the campaign?

NB Re River Assault We played The attacker had 1 bridging unit for every full 1,000 pnts – so two bridges – had to order them to be built, before they could be crossed at full speed by inf and 1/2 speed by vehicles.

Some interesting plot lines and basics for getting scenarios started although not sure whether BKC or CWC would be more appropriate.

<description>If infantry are in transport, lets say Panzer Grenadiers in Sdkfz 251/1 which close assault and on contact dismount, does the transport count as supporting as it has a ranged weapon and it will be within 10 cm?

This would also apply to tanks with tank riders, under similar circumstances?

<title>[13/02/12 19:27:15] FWC Miniatures - Brigade Minis Eurofed Army painted - Posted by doublesix66</title>
<description>Hi all here's my very large Eurofed army about 10,000+ points in FWC without infantry. I have done the command stands so you can either have an complete wheeled force or complete hover force or an combination of the 2. Just need to finish the aircraft and reece buggys.

I've photographed the groups with command stands

 Complete army (without infantry)
 http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/doublesix66/Brigade%20games%20_%20Eurofed/Eurofed_group1.jpghttp://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/double...

 Hover Tanks + reece
 http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/doublesix66/Brigade%20games%20_%20Eurofed/Eurofed_hovertanks.jpghttp://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/double...

 Hover Artillery &amp; AA

Tassigny's APC, IFV &amp; Missile variants

 Buggies and trucks
 http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/doublesix66/Brigade%20games%20_%20Eurofed/Eurofed_jeeps.jpghttp://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/double...

 Gamlin wheeled tanks
 http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/doublesix66/Brigade%20games%20_%20Eurofed/Eurofed_Gamlins.jpghttp://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/double...

 Catroux wheeled APC &amp; support
 http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/doublesix66/Brigade%20games%20_%20Eurofed/Eurofed_catroux.jpghttp://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/double...

 Wheeled Artillery

Just a few bits and bobs to finish then onto the next project which is an SAC army which I haven't decided how to paint as of yet.

<title>[13/02/12 19:07:39] FWC Miniatures - Brigade Minis CDSU Army painted - Posted by doublesix66</title>
<description>Hi all here's the (almost) complete CDSU army, just the rest of the Powered Armour suits, aircraft and Reece giaps to be added. Its about 8,000+ in FWC points, I always paint so they look good from a distance as hats the way you generally see them.

 Complete army
 http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/doublesix66/Brigade%20games%20-%20CDSU/CDSU_group-1.jpghttp://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/double...

 Command stands
 http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/doublesix66/Brigade%20games%20-%20CDSU/CDSU_Commands.jpghttp://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/double...

 Artillery
 http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/doublesix66/Brigade%20games%20-%20CDSU/CDSU_Artillery.jpghttp://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/double...

 SPG &amp; SPATS
 http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/doublesix66/Brigade%20games%20-%20CDSU/CDSU_SPG_SPATs.jpghttp://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/double...

 Reece &amp; Powered Armour troops
 http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/doublesix66/Brigade%20games%20-%20CDSU/CDSU_PAReece.jpghttp://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/double...
 Close-up of PA
 http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/doublesix66/Brigade%20games%20-%20CDSU/CDSU_PA_closeup.jpghttp://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/double...

IFV + regular Infantry (not Brigade infantry)
 http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/doublesix66/Brigade%20games%20-%20CDSU/CDSU_IFVregulars.jpghttp://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/double...

APC's + conscripted infantry (not Brigade infantry)
 http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/doublesix66/Brigade%20games%20-%20CDSU/CDSU_APCconscripts.jpghttp://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/double...

And finally mine are boxed in a wooden box
 http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/doublesix66/Brigade%20games%20-%20CDSU/CDSU_boxed.jpghttp://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/double...

Actually missed out not photographing the MBT I don't why as there are 10 of them.

 Command stands
 http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/doublesix66/PAD%20FED%20FWC%206mm/PACFED_commands.jpghttp://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/double...

 Heavy, Medium &amp; Light tanks
 http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/doublesix66/PAD%20FED%20FWC%206mm/PACFED_tanks.jpghttp://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/double...

 Artillery
 http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/doublesix66/PAD%20FED%20FWC%206mm/PACFED_Artillery.jpghttp://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/double...

 Recce units
 http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/doublesix66/PAD%20FED%20FWC%206mm/PACFED_Recce.jpghttp://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/double...

 Kola's and specials
 http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/doublesix66/PAD%20FED%20FWC%206mm/PACFED_Kolaaircraft.jpghttp://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/double...

 Infantry and IFV
 http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/doublesix66/PAD%20FED%20FWC%206mm/PACFED_IFVinfantry.jpghttp://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/double...

And them all boxed away each vehicle has an magnetic base and steel paper lines the boxes
 http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/doublesix66/PAD%20FED%20FWC%206mm/PACFED_boxed1.jpghttp://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/double...
 http://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/doublesix66/PAD%20FED%20FWC%206mm/PACFED_boxed2.jpghttp://i732.photobucket.com/albums/ww323/double...

The only problem is now he's seen the full size of my Eurofed's and has threatened to get some more, which I'll probably end up painting, he really needs to sort out some transfers to go on them.

<title>[13/02/12 16:42:15] FWC Battles, Scenarios &amp; Campaigns - The Berkeley Vale Galaxy Times, Issue 5 - Posted by stenicplus</title>
<description>It's been quiet what with Christmas and the aftermath of the fall of the Tawe worlds but we are now back in business!

News from the front coming in...

Andaraydan Collective known as Dave is under attack, Compatia, a minor planet recently occupied, is now under attack. Furthermore Indus-Alpha looks like it is the target of a large scale raid.

More on these stories as new unfolds...

We also have good info that Andarayadan security forces on Abertawe are on high alert after discovering plans to raid the industrial facilities on that planet. You may recall Abertawe was recently conquered by the Andarayadan Collective known as Shaun and the Neo-Soviets registered objections with the UF after finding evidence of the wholesale relocation of the Tawe populace. At this point the UF have yet to determine what happened to all the 'relocated settlers'.

More on these stories as it comes in.

<title>[12/02/12 20:03:05] FWC General Discussions - New guy saying 'Hi' - Posted by RainCity</title>
<description>Hi there,

I've been lurking a bit since before my copy of FWC reached me. I have to say this forum is one of my all time favorites. Some forums are Ghost Towns, some are like a Friday night in a rough neighborhood. This one is actually quite helpful and cordial. So, well done there.

This is for Pete. THANK YOU. I love the rules and being able to use any figures (including my old &amp;quot;name brand&amp;quot; stuff)is just grand. The danger now is seeing all the new and tempting things in 6mm which I was able to ignore while I lacked a rule set for them. Mixed blessing there I think.[8)] Even basic access to the battlegroup function is fantastically handy to have and made army creation a snap.

Well, off to start painting battlegroups. The scavengers got 2420 to play with the the Marine 1800. Hmmm, I think I may need to build a 6mm, Sci fi, Rokes Drift terrain piece.

Thanks for making this forum a nice place to visit and for breathing new life into the piles of 6mm which have been giving me guilt producing glares since 1999.

<title>[12/02/12 17:12:07] BKC-II Rule Queries - Amount of Artillery/Air requests - Posted by freddy326</title>
<description>Hi,

I've played a few games of BKC II and the artillery rules are confusing me a bit. On the respective pages for Air and artillery it states that 'Each artillery unit/Air unit may only be used once per turn'

Does that mean if I only have one purchased one Artillery or air unit, my FAO or FAC can only request it once per turn or can I request it as many times as I successfully roll?

 thanks

<title>[12/02/12 15:03:54] BKC-II Rule Queries - Response Fire to Support In Close Assault - Posted by todd.jayhawk</title>
<description>The unit declared to be under CA and any unsuppressed unit within 10cm may fire at the attacking and supporting units.

My question: does each unit get to fire once at the CA unit and once on each supporting unit?
 Or
Do they need to choose their response fire?

And: this close assault is happening in high area terrain - I know during the actual assault the CA unit is attacked as though in the open. However, do the CA and supporting units get the High Area Terrain cover when under response fire?

<description>Hi,

Been very quiet on my scenery front as been busy with &amp;quot;proper&amp;quot; work and finishing off some orders for other people.

Anyway, knocked this dug in Panzer iii off last night:

Really easy to make now that decent 15mm plastics are available.

 Comments and crits always welcome,

<title>[11/02/12 16:34:01] BKC-II Rule Queries - Building a Battlegroup, how to count the CO - Posted by Ragnar65</title>
<description>Hi guys,

 a short question:
I have a US Rifle Company with 1 Company HQ and 3 Platoons with 3 squads each plus 1 PltCdr. Using the battlegroup-tool, how do I count the units?

 I´d say this:
1 Company Commander as CO (CV9)
 3 PltCdr as HQ (CV8)
 9 Infantry-Stands /Units

I´m not sure if I have to count the CO once as CO-Unit AND once as a Infantry unit.

Any help will be much appreciated. :-)

<title>[10/02/12 09:29:03] BKC General Discussions - Polish Armoured Train part 2 - Posted by johnboy</title>
<description>Hi guys,

played a game last night with my early war Germans against early war Poles - including the armoured train! The table looked very nice, and the battlefront model is a beauty (but hideously expensive!).

We used the rules posted by Keith in a previous thread. Good game, lots of blunders and failed rolls all round, but the train didn't actually achieve much.

With 3 wounds per carriage it died very quickly and was definitely a &amp;quot;points sink&amp;quot;. Just wondering if it ought to have something like 5-6 hit points per carriage, and a better save, like 5+, or even 4+? Not sure how thick the armour was.

Keith - do your points costs INCLUDE the infantry units that it carries, or are they extra? And did the train achieve much in your game, or just die in a couple of rounds of shooting?

Lovely model and having a railway adds lots of interest to the tabletop. We'd love to use it again but we probably need to &amp;quot;pimp&amp;quot; it up a bit in terms of survivability.

 cheers

 John

PS Will email a couple of photos to Pete who may (or may not!) want to post them in the gallery.

<title>[09/02/12 14:20:50] CWC General Discussions - Modern French Tri-Colour Camouflage- Help please. - Posted by hawkmoon</title>
<description>Hi,
Does anyone know the year (not decade as I know it started in the 80’s) for the introduction of the French Tri-colour AFV camouflage- similar to the NATO 3-tone. I have seen the AMX-10 RC in tri-colour in a photo from pre 1990, but I would like to know what year it was introduced on the AMX-30 and/or the AMX-30 B2 &amp; AMX10P, I have Googled it extensively and the only information I can find is that only the AMX-30B2 was issued with it tri-colour with the standard AMX30 initially remaining Green only. I was hoping to paint all my 1989 (pre 1990) era French force in Tri-colour.
Any help with this would be appreciated.

 Thanks
 David-K
