(Should read 'Who'!)

Looking to raise a new Russian battalion, does anyone make the new Armata?

(See todays BBC news...)

It may take them a while if this is the version that they go on to produce.

And then you'll need to work out CWC stats!

By the time they go into full production you might need FWC statsGrin Looks like they've used some of the styles of other tanks, a bit of Merkava, Leopard etc. they'll be really expensive and there may be only a few hundred of them in 10 years time?

They still refusing to take the dust sheet off the turret then? I'm half tempted to conclude it's a wooden mock up still Grin

Hmm, re production I heard the Russians say 100 units for troop trials would be produced next year. That would follow the traditional way they do things.

I should note that was on a Russian internet forum, and should be taken with a grain of salt.

I'm surprised it didn't claim there were legions of them ready to roll across the border already, then Wink

With any luck we won't have a "live fire" Abrams/Chally/Leo vs Armata test...

There is a version of the T-14 on shapeways that would work for a FWC tank. It is based on the video with the twin 30mm auto-cannons. It doesn't match the photos with the shrouded turret or this video:

That claim of 400 Armatas is way off. At 55+ tons per tank and a payload of 200 tons that is only three per aircraft. With only 80 aircraft planned that amounts to only 240 tanks plus some support vehicles. Of course they also included the fanciful video with the twin 30 guns.SadBlackeye

Note that the parade tanks clearly have some sort of thin metal plastered over their turret which obscures the true shape of it and the armour array.

An important point to pass on to any miniature makers looking to re-produce the T-14 from these prototypes!

They should supply just the hull, and let the gamer bodge up their own fantasy turret. It's what the Russians are doing Grin

So, did it really break down at the rehearsal?
Or was it a drill?

Vote here please!...
