Am I right in thinking that the Leopard 1 A4 is the right MBT to use for the Canadian C1circa 1985?

Canadian Leopard C1s are apparently equivalent to Leopard 1A3 but with a laser rangefinder. Heroics and Ros do the A1, A2, A4 and A5, but not the A3 unless it's in their new releases.

Not sure there's actually much external difference between the A3 and A4 - just a commanders sight which probably is not very noticeable in 6mm?

And might even pass for the Canadians laser rangefinder Wink

Cheers
The A3 has the more slab like turret (minus the open stowage bins on the back of the turret) I think?
There are drawings here showing a top view:

which makes that GHQ one there or there abouts...
I'll have a squint at H&R as well

Don't know about the turret bins - but yes, A3 onwards is the slab/straight edge turret.

Stowage bins - am sure I've seen piccies of Canadian Leo's festooned with kit on the back of the turret. Might be worth a google tomorrow when I'm not sneakily on the phone whilst allegedly clearing up the toddler devastated front room Grin

A1 and A2 were cast turrets. A3 and A4 were welded turrets (slab sided). A5 was the A1 cast turret with additional armour layer.... mostly. Some nations upgraded to 'A5 standard' and called it A5 but without the add on armour.

The Canadian C1 is based on the 1A3 turret, but in 6mm the 1A4 will be fine
