Hello Pete

The main function of CO and HQ units seems to be to command on-table units, but there are several instances where they are allowed to order off-table units as well, for example:

1. Attack Helicopters
2. Helicopter Assault
3. Artillery/Air Support if the Fire Support rule applies

Hope I'm right so far!

So how does this work? Are the orders issued at the time as to the on-table units (i.e. in the same Command Roll) or are they ordered separately? And if separately does failure on a Command Roll for off-table units end the CO/HQ's turn and prevent them ordering on-table units?

Regards

No, its a separte order, so failing is the same as if you failed ordering an on table unit.

Thanks Dave

So effectively ordering off-table and on-table units with a CO/HQ is like them being separate formations - so if you fail with one then that's it, but if you pass you can issue orders to the other "formation" starting at your base CV. Is that right?

Thanks again
