With things like the M3 Blradley has anyone pondered using "small" infantry units? A few of us were pondering Shooting of 2 dice and 2 or 3 hits. Huh?

I'd not bother, just use the Scout element. Why add complication.

Yeah, good point. It stemmed from a discussion over the infantry capacity and dismounting from an sdkfz250. Non-recce scouts would cover it.

Thanks Ian

... or not. US Scouts are the same as infantry but with one less shooting dice. Having 6 hits kinda misses what I was thinking of. Disapprove

They are better at using cover, carry more support wpns, etc. Bear in mind that a WWII Carrier platoon has more fire power than a rifle company.

The alternative is to ignore the dismounts, and assume that they are what allows you to see through terrain.

More *potential* firepower, but not the bodies to use it.

Carrier platoons didn't perform well, certainly not up to the over gunned semi-armoured, fast and mobile nature you'd maybe expect from the level of gear they had. Raw bodies count a lot more than being over gunned.

But that's a different argument Grin

I'd thought small Scout platoons had four hits as well, which would seem reasonable even if the fire factors were about the same.

We treat the M3 as a transport and use the scout stats for the dismount.
