That's not exactly a house rule per se, but I don't know where else to put it...

Proposition for a modern polish army list:
http://bachminski.com/takie_tam/pl_armylist_2.p...

There are three things that need a clarification here:

First: My role in the creation of this list was pretty much limited to putting it all together and supplement some missing elements - most rules and unit stats were suggested by wargamer.pl forum users during a discussion concerning polish army.

Second: This list contains no introduction/decomission dates for units and equipment as it was created "for today" - putting together a single list for a cold war/modern period or even only for a post-cold war era would be rather difficult as things change dramatically every year.

Third: This list presents an approach to an up-armoured HMMWV that's a little different from official rules posted on SMP site: HMMWV's attacks are still marked with an asterisk (*) and it has a troop capacity of 1 (in PL army it's used mostly to transport a single infantry section with a mortar or Spike ATGW).

All comments and suggestions are of course welcome Smile

Looks intersting, could do with -

Definitions of the kit, I dont recognise soem of these

dates - know you said you left em off but it would be useful.

An outline organisation, I may have a fair idea but many dont.

Good work though.

Some interesting bits of kit, shame no-one makes a lot of them.

I would dearly love GHQ or CinC to make a 'Dana' or its 155mm sister 'Zuzana'.

Rosomak, I believe, means 'Wolverine' and is an 8x8 Pandur derived APC, one of these quite recent minimalist vehicles; all straight edges and angles.

Hibneryt is a ZU23-2 in the back of a 6 wheel Tatra truck,Biala is a ZSU23-4 shilka upgrade; Loara is a Gepard-ski, although there is/was a variant that had 8 RBS SAM's instead of twin 35mm.

Langusta is LARS MRL, Sokol is a home grown chopper, only 130 built.

Could make a nice 'What if'campaign; was it Larry Bond's 'Cauldron' that had the French and German's going into Poland in the 90's?

The best quote from the book;
French General ' I always thought that German troops were only fit for Garrison duties!'
German General ' That's right, in the last war we garrisoned Paris, Cherbourg, Lyons....'

A really good CWC scenario generator.

Thanks for the feedback - I guess that as soon as I'll have some spare time I shall add some info concerning basic organisation and definitions for more exotic equipment. Maybe I'll add some suggested proxies too - my army will definitely be based on them... No good proxy for unique-looking Dana/Zuzana I'm afraid - I agree someone should definitely produce these Wink

I'd like some 6mm Dana/Zuzana too.

Good stuff kamill - thanks for working these up - it's always good to have more army lists, especially if it's *another* army which can scrap the ever-versatile Soviets!

I'd appreciate some dates though as well if that's possible...Smile

Hm, all right, by popular demand I'll add the dates Wink - at least where I'm sure about them - it won't be by any means a complete list, but I hope it will be helpful.

Ok, it took much longer than anticipated, but taking jobs from better paid western workers sure is time-consuming...

http://bachminski.com/takie_tam/pl_armylist_3.p...

Some clarifications:
- HMMWV has now a capacity of 2 spaces - I guess there's no point in limiting it in 1:5 scale.

- For post-soviet equipment I used NATO or Soviet designations even if actual Polish names are/were different.

- Su-22 are theoretically still in service. However, I limited them to 2005 because due to age and condition their battle efficiency is dramatically limited. Simply removing them was easier than creating rules exceptions by reducing attacks, saves, etc.

- OT-64 are still in service, but only in specialized variants (command, medevac, etc).

- I haven't included it in the rules, but I guess it would not be unreasonable to use close air support from american army list if the scenario is Iraq/Afghanistan.

- Some dates are approximation and some are purely symbolic. Smile

Ha, I'd never expected that wargaming forum will teach me what a "scouse" is Wink You're welcome Smile

Anyway, all I can wish for now is that this list will be useful for someone except me Grin

That's pretty-bloody-nice, eh? There's more detail in that [at teeny scale] than some 28mm I could mention...Cool

I can see that a nice little [literally] Polish battlegroup might be in the offing...hmm...
