What a hoot! Other than advanced munitions and engineering I think we used pretty much every single rule last night, and the whole thing flowed really well as well.

Plotting a campaign as we speak....

A great report which I immensely enjoyedSmile.

Now I've only played Brits and in the campaign game run by Steve Shilcock a couple of years ago, I only ever lost ONE Chieftain over about four gamesShock.

From memory the BMPs and tanks have ATG missiles that can be used when out of the main gun range. These are nasty and are to be feared. Now it's quite a while since I played so could be wrong on this, but worth checking.

Hope you get to run a campaign as I would look forward to further reports in the same vein.

The "Rain would be worse!" comment made me laugh!

Did you try flank shooting the Chieftains/Challengers with the helos? Or maybe thermobaric from your MRL, or gas?

Ouch, taking on decent NATO tanks frontally is an exercise in hurt Smile

I have found they don't like a Hind appearing on their rear, however, and napalm is a great leveller if you can get past the air defence Wink

I normally read the Ancients and Renaissance reports- love the format for CWC.

(Just on tiny point - That's a German Pope not the Polish one - Benedict vice JPII. You might think that's pedantic -it is - but you'd want to know if you'd identified a T72A as a T72M wouldn't you? Maybe not - but this is the wrong Pope!)

I feel better now.Grin

Of course there probably aren't any photos of JPII looking like that - so...

You could use the Spitting Image version of J-PII.

Hmmm - you may be right on the Pope shot - I googled JPII for the image and this one came up, but it is a great shot anyway..

I'd wanted to use the OT 8-wheelers so didn't have any BMP's on table - also a points shortage meant the BRDM ATGW vehicles were downgraded late on and were only using Swatter (?) with 2 attacks, and the Hind wasn't much better.

I might go back and add in a few rules-mechanic hints if I get time as well.

Both of us had deliberatley not used the OTT artillery ammunition, partly as it was an encounter so no assets, and partly as I feel somewhat uneasy about using weapons (bomblets) that are now subject to an international treaty banning on their use.
