Hello everyone,
I am looking to get into CWC, I am new to the period, but have enough military history and wargaming background to be considered a 'competent amateur' so to speak.

I will probably be starting with late 1980's British and Russian (hypothetical Eastern Germany), which at a very extreme push I could also use as the foundation for GW1. I will probably then move to early 70's Arab/Israeli and then onto Falklands - all at 1/300.

I am a member of the Wargames Association Reading so have a good location (and scenery etc) to make use of (on a Wednesday night) if that is of any help.

Please PM me or post below if you are in the area and are interested in playing this rule set at this scale in (I am also open to most periods/conflicts during the cold war, the above noted is just where I plan to start).

No where near Reading, sorry, but - if you fancy the Falklands then Pendraken do a cracking range in 10mm - with the lack of massed heavy armour I reckon it would work much better as a slightly larger, more skirmish looking scale Wink

Hi, I am in Thatcham, Berkshire. I have CWC but have not had a game yet. I have played FWC and one game of BKCII.

I have Brits and Soviets in 1/200 if you want to meet up at some point and give the rules a go.

I have 1/300 WWII and WWI and will eventually move my modern to 1/285.

Regards

Hi Jason,
Yeah sounds great. I am still awaiting the rules getting to me (should be late this week/early next week). But once I have had a bit of time to read them it would be great if you have Brits and Soviets (1/200 is about 8mm right?).

If you are interested, you can come along to where the local war games club is (Wargame Association Reading), ironically in Sindlesham but should only be about a 30-40 minute drive from Thatcham (we have people come from Bristol and Swindon). The club meets Weds from 19:00 every week. We would have access to terrain, tables etc etc.

Hi Sharpe,

1/200 skytrex would be about 8 or 9 mm. Smaller than Pendraken anyway for vehicles.

I go to the Heavy Brigade club in Thatcham on Friday nights if you are ever free. Or may be one Wednesday when I am free, I will travel to WAR.

My email is sillocj@gmail.com

Hi Jason,
We could always alternate or similar. A club member has provided me a copy of CWC while I wait for mine to arrive. Give me a week to look at the rules and then maybe we could try a game somewhere?
