Hi Dave

Have you looked at twomarshals.blogspot.com? That's the blog of Alan "Shedman" of this forum. They play BBB a lot, adapted to the Russo Japanese War.

Alan's also on Facebook with some really interesting AARs. The game system looks really good to play out those large battles in a single session.

Thanks gents.

BBB is an excellent set of rules not only for fighting large historical battles of the late 19th century on a 6x4 table in an evening but also for other periods with a bit of thought.

There are loads of historical battles on the yahoo group https://uk.groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/BBB_wargames/info

We have also used it for Caesarian Romans vs Britons, Modern Africa, the Russo-Japanese War and skirmish games

@billb, looking good … 2mm is quite small. I like giant sized 6mm, some of my work is on the BBB Yahoo Group run by Chris Pringle. Waterloo is being played in a few weeks, having done the skirmishes at Solferino and Koniggratz.

Dave,
I originally intended to go with 6mm,but the difference in cost for the amount of figures that would eventually be needed compared to getting the 2mm figures printed by a fellow club member ended up favoring the 2mm guys.
