Guys,

Playing with my Krays this week Stunned I forgot that stealth gave the ability to avoid assaults and the Gara (plus 2) died!.

However it got me thinking. the assault in question was in the rear from a teleporting set of marines (!) don't ask. In these circumstances, would they have had the time to switch the stealth on and melt away or would the surprise factor of the teleport (you can't reactive fire) negate it. Also if you're coming in behind LOS would that also negate the ability to melt away during assaults?

Thanks,
Paul

Letting Marines sprise Krays? No wonder when they are all in the wrong colours! SillyGrin

I can't see anything in the rules as written that prohibits stealth even if you cannot see the assaulters neither teleporting nor normal assaulters.

It would not be unreasonable to say 'stealth' is an action and you can't use an action (lie reactive firte etc...) if you have no los.

Which is hard for me to say being a keen exponent of the Krays

I'd say that's reasonable - you can't break away from attackers if you don't know they are attacking you.

And Krays are filth, so any slim advantage the rest of us get the better Grin

RaW suggests nothing to stop them, I think - but I'd be tempted by the argument to say it's an action so if you can't reactive fire you can't stealth out either...

FWC rules as written imply that stealth operates at all times and does not require an action to allow a unit to decline an assault by leaving the battlefield and joining the reserve pool. From there it requires a CO deploy order from reserves to return on-table, and may do nothing else that turn. So actually out of action for a while, and some effort to get back on the field. Only exception would be if deployed into an Ambush from Reserve pool. Stealth seems OK to me as written.

Cool
