In FWC Skirmish when pointing up vehicles are the crew included or do they have to be paid separately?

Also do Smart Missiles require an assistant?

Crew need to be paid for separately.

Smart missiles don't need an assistant.

I think my skirmish vehicles might well be AI controlled with no crew, then Wink

We played 2 games of FWC skirmish last night

We both used the PIP Iron Storm army list

I had

1 Lieutenant
2 Sergeants
16 Troopers with rifles
2 Troopers with SAWs
2 Troopers with Smart Missiles
2 IFVs

I think Shaun had

1 Lieutenant
2 Sergeants
16 Troopers with rifles
1 Heavy Laser with 2 crew
1 Chain Gun with 2 crew
1 Wardroid with flame thrower
1 Medbot
1 Tank

In both games the object was to download data from an alien artefact in the centre of the table

The games played very much like normal FWC

Command units are treated like other units, they can move, fire and be targeted but don't move at the end of the turn

The forces were probably enough for one player - maybe
another squad

Good stuff

I can see an arms race starting

And definitely one for Bootcamp

.... there were a couple of queries / points

Q1. Each vehicle has it's own CV. If it fails to issue an order can it be ordered by the CO at the usual -1 modifier?

Q2. If a vehicle crew is reduced what are the penalties if any? I would suggest -1 to Command roll per missing crew

Point 1. At this scale some weapons,ie flamethrowers, could do with using a cone template rather than anything in a straight line up to the weapon max range

Point 2. The vehicle damage chart seems a bit harsh. An IFV took 1 hit which, after rolling on the chart, killed 2 of the 3 crew

Point 3. We dropped the Prone / Stand Up actions as we assumed that troops would adopt the correct position
