Hi folks - yes it is I, back again between jobs & without a Berkeley Galaxy Campaign to distract me ...Grin

So - I've been digging out my 6mm Kra'Vak with an eye to finishing it off ... but the more I look at the lists the less "Kra'Vak" it seems to me.

What no Stealth - not even adaptive camo Sad
What no Rail Guns - not even HVP Sad

Since Kra'Vaks are supposed to be vaguely 'Predator' like surely we can can tool this up a bit more than it is? Especially as we have some rather nice minis to go with it.

I'd also include the Kra'Vak 'hounds' from the Predator 4 (or is it 3 movie) ... a bit like Kroot Hounds me thinks
Wink

I shall start 'tinkering' ASAP ... but would value some thought ....???

Cheers

You know I'd swear I'd replied to this... I'm sure any reasonable opponent wouldn't object to a bit of 'spicing up' via the special stuff & unit calculator - some hyper velocity penetrators would seem reasonable!

Not sure about Stealth - does the GZG universe give them stealthiness?

I thought much the same.

Perhaps changign their doctrine and tech level might make them more Kra'vak like. How about keeping the equipment list in the book but fielding them as high-tech hunter gatherers.

Depends on your intepretation of them - are they Predator style aliens, with much more advanced tech than 'generic human', or are they GZG style Kra'vak as written, in which case their tech is comparable to Humanities but no better?

Flexible doctrine and contemporary tech sounds about right to me as GZG style, but they should then have rail guns as primary armament on AFVs and no shield tech, but perhaps better armour saves/hits or even Tough on a lot of vehicles...

I went & got a full time job ... so the painting plan has gone to pot!
However the Berkeley FWC Boot Camp weekend looms large & I am back on my Kra'Vak mission.

Looking at the 'trail' above - I am now inclined to stick with the GZG approach for my true Kra'Vak force* but maybe look at adding 'Tough' to them and also some HVP (rail-gun) type tech. They seem to read-up as 'tough & nasty' types - so maybe 'Fearless' for the infantry types might also do the trick.
Cheers

(* - I still think there is an opportunity for a 6mm Predator type force myself)

I'd probably run a Predator style force as Guerilla doctrine & Advanced tech, with loads of target linked stuff, ambushes and elite and very dangerous infantry supported by light hover and gunship assets... could be really, really annoying to play Grin

I think the approach you confirm for "regular" Kra'vak is the way to go, they're all about the robustness and hyper velocity rail guns with some gung ho close combat...

I like the transfer of the Guerilla doctrine idea (from CWC I assume) + Advanced Tech.
Sort of like the Progenitor 'uber Light Infantry types but with Stealth Grin but Elite ... very nasty as you say.
Well worth 'tinkering with'.

Yeah, that's the ticket.

"Just go and sweep that village and fields. It's fine. Don't worry about the bodies or the reports of invisible aliens with plasma guns. It's fiiiiiiiiiiiiiine!"

*aieee, argh, rend, rip, shred*
