Check out this great little miniatures company, Troublemaker Games as they are doing a crowdfunded plastic 6mm infantry/vehicle sprue as we speak that may be very useful to certain collectors.

Funding is going well and they have several ideas to improve on the finished sprue content if stretch goals are reached.

Full coverage of this project can be found at the Tactical Command forum in the casting/sculpting section.

Hey Paul you'd have to direct such questions to Ben as i have no idea who has what ordered.

My only involvement in this project revolves around some pre-funder financial support i gave to get the plastic project rolling which hopefully one day i will eventually get back if sufficient future webstore sales of the plastic sprue happens.

I have no involvement with the funder#1 metal range at all.

Cheers

I have been reliable informed that the plastic sprues are currently on a ship in the south china sea and should arrive in the UK in about three weeks time.

Hey guys i have just seen this posted on Tac Com's forum so have just had the news myself. I'm not a happy man. Stunned

The current news, is that the 50% of the sprues failed Quality Checking and the factory is making more, and the remainder were held before sending out, but our plastics consultants didn't tell us until this weekend that they hadn't actually been shipped when they told us they'd been shipped; suffice to say we're furious, because we've been relying on false information and waiting for a ship that hasn't turned up.

The new plan is to forget getting the castings done in China, pay for the mould tool to be flow to the UK (about £500 including import charges), and run it here. We should have a timeline for that sorted by the weekend, at which point we'll be putting out an official update.

Sorry about this and misleading you about shipment but as you can see from this message we have been being lied to for months and now we have to seek alternative production options in order to fullfill customer orders.

Once again i'm really sorry about this your patience has been much appreciated. I will post Ben's official update or a link to it as soon as i hear anything.

If more information is required please forward your questions to Ben who will be able to answer them better than me.

Cheers John

Long time no update sorry about that but there has been little to report.

It had been arranged with the agent to ship to the UK the plastics mould for finishing due to a minor defect, and we had been informed that this was happening.

The agent decided of his own back to authorise repair of the defect and another production run in china against our wishes in the hopes we think of salvaging the situation and recovering lost revenue by being able to deliver a viable production mould and some stock to go with it.

As of this time i have not heard anything about the outcome from this batch run, good or bad so i still cannot give any solid info as to when we are liable to see a finished product.

Ben as you can imagine is livid with the situation but we have no choice but to deal with the agent who does all the communication with the factory.

If he fails to deliver this time round ben will insist that the mould is delivered to the UK immediately so that he can get the mould defect fixed at a factory here and get a production batch underway ASAP.

Again i apologise for the continued bad news but rest assured that we remain committed to delivering a finished product to all our backers.

The defect is only a minor one, the back half of the human missile launcher guy sometimes snaps off in the mould thus filling the cavity and leaving every sprue cast after that with half a missile launcher on the guy which means lots of defective product for the bin. The factory does do a periodic inspection during a batch run but the castings pop out pretty fast so quite a lot of sprues can be produced before a problem is spotted.

Thanks John

Sorry for the late response as I have not checked in for a few days. Excuse my computer ignorance but I don't know how to create a link for you.

If you go to the IGG page there is a project updates link on the bar above the main picture. You want to read update 49 just click on this one to see the message.

This one - https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/6mm-scale-armies#activity ?

Whoops. Either their plastics factory is rubbish, or they're giving them the run around :/ I'd get the gear back here soon as tbh...

Your not wrong it has been an epic struggle to get any traction from the factory since the initial problem occurred.

The problem is that it costs a lot of money to modify the mould each time a defect is discovered which eats in to the profit margin quite a bit for the manufacturer so they have been most reluctant to correct any flaws.

I think it's at the stage now where they are out of pocket and so are loathed to spend any more time/money on it.

The only real options are to use another factory to correct the problem, or bring it all back to the UK and use it as is and just replace defective figures with metal cast versions instead. Not really what we want to do but it may be the only choice.

At the moment most contributors want to try the other factory option first to get the mould fixed as the other option can still be taken if all else fails.

We have been reliably informed that the first batch of the plastic sprues are in transit, so fingers crossed we may see an actual product soon.

Sorry about the long absence but I now have news worthy of sharing.

Situation is this, Ben and myself have agreed the terms and signed the contract for me to package and ship all the funder 1 pledges. So to that end a few weeks ago I received 14 big boxes full of 3000 sprues and 16000 bases ready for when I can start the job.

There has been a minor hiccup in that the skinnerz big guns for the artillery pledges have gone missing and so we need to get a new mould made in order to fufill these items, other than that it's just down to me having the time to squeeze the job in. I plan to ship over the course of a month but hopefully quicker than that it all depends on work comitments/real life.

Rest assured I will post again as soon as the shipments begin and I should be starting very soon.

Shipped now stands at 62 with more going out this weekend.

I've already had several people contact me asking after their skinnerz big guns and just how many plastic sprues they should receive so hopefully to avoid answering the same questions a few dozen times i'll post that info here.

Big guns, original batch went missing somehow so a new mould has been commishioned to get another batch cast i've been told that these should be with me by end of this month or early next month, they will then be shipped out to you ASAP after that.

Right pledges now stand like this.

Sample pledge, 2 sprues plus bases
1 Army box, 6 sprues plus bases
Artillery pledge, 4 sprues plus bases with 2 human gun sprues and 2 of each skinnerz big gun
Anti air pledge, 4 sprues plus bases with 2 human anti air sprues and two skinnerz anti air sprues

If you had a just humans or just aliens pledge then you will receive a certain number of the whole sprue instead.

So all pledges will be those listed above or multiples/combinations of this list.

125 OF 127 pledges shipped.

State of play as of today 11/05/16

The following two pledgers still need address confirmations.

Asbjorn Heike Hagen Norway
Daniel Sanchez Campos Spain

The following pledges have been returned for unknown reasons, these people need to contact me to sort out why they were not delivered.

Micael Oliveira Portugal
Baudin France
Hugo Bunouf France

If I do not hear from the people listed by the end of this week then I will hand this information back to Ben and leave it for him to sort out before shipping these out again.

So people this is the last call from me if you want your plastics please get in touch.

Cheers
