Played a game and I could've CAed this King Tiger in an AFV pit. Since CA is one of the more asked about rules, I wanted to run this by the crew here. This really phrased as a question:
https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/g1YJgtmYc... US turn. (American Veterans) (see link to picture below)
The infantry stand at the top right, with the d6 (3) on it and the tank, right next to it (labelled "A" and one dot) did not participate or support this CA. Because I didn't want the King Tiger to shoot at them with response fire.
Because all the assaulting and supporting stands are behind the arc of fire and LOS of the Tiger, it can not fire any response as the two stands approach, correct?
Once there, the US CA roll would be a total of 13 dice (CA 4+ CA 4+ 2(for two units assaulting)+ 3(for 3 units in support)
The King Tiger would roll 2 dice (CA 4-2 (because of two units in flank/rear).
So, assuming I have all that correct - I rolled the dice for the US and rolled a couple 6es, then rolled for the Tiger's saves which passed. No hits.
The Tiger rolled two hits, with no saves.
Therefore, because the Tiger has two hits to 0, they have double the hits, therefore both infantry stands are KO'd. In addition, the Half-Tracks and Sherman in support would move 1/2 their move away from the assault. Correct?
If that's the case, then this is very deadly!
I'm not completely sure how to take that Tiger out. Being in that pit gives it 1 extra save (from a 3 to a 2!) Also, in the pit, it takes a 6 to hit. Crazy.
(btw - as I was going through the QRS - I see that I forgot to take the save value back up to 3 because it was attacked in the flank.)
