Posted on 28 June 2013 at 10:14:07 GMT Other than the Me321, the short answer is no. The Hamilcar needed a 4 engine heavy bomber as a tow (obsolete Stirlings were largely used by the RAF). The Germans didn't have any spare 4 engine aircraft for a similar role and after 1942 were on the strategic defensive anyway, so didn't put the effort into developing large gliders. For a "what if", the Me 321 would be the most realistic. Cheers Andy |
