As I understand the rules, if both are adjacent to their respective hedges then they can be fired at.

In many older sets of rules there was a kind of convention that you could fire over one linear obstacle, but two blocked your line of sight (and LOF).

That is how I read the rules as well.

Piemanal - my understanding is that you're correct. If your infantry have taken up position, and haven't moved ALONG the hedge or opened fire, then they're concealed.

If your enemy have done the same thing with their hedge, then they're also concealed. If they're 20cm away from each other then they can't see each other.

To get around this, you have a few options:

1. Get closer! (Not always easy if you're gonna cut to ribbons.
2. Use recce to spot one of their units, then target that unit with arty.
3. Send out one "sacrificial unit" to attract enemy opp fire, which will means they will reveal themselves.

Perhaps StormforceX and Panzerleader71 are right and I'm wrong, but that's the way I've always read the concealment rules.

cheers

I think there's a bit of confusion between LoS in Linear Terrain and Concealment here.

As far as I can understand Stormforce X and Panzerleader71 have clarified the question about both units being unconcealed and in contact with both hedges.

johnboy has answered the question as if both units were concealed.

Have I understood this correctly?

Al,

Can't believe you don't know thisGrin

The above is all correct and exactly how we play it at the club. (well, when I run the game anyway!)

By-Tor - you've understood correctly. Once the units have revealed themselves (stop sniggering at the back!) then they can be targeted. If they're more than 20cm away from each other and sneaked up to the hedges from a position of concealment then they're concealed.

cheers
