An AAR of a game that Craig (Ravenchild) and I played last weekend as part of our SCG campaign.

Bath's Anglican League Territorial Infantry!? BALTI? I mean really Steve, that's just silly! Things have gone far enough in your search for outrageous unit names.

But seriously, loved the game and the look. The natural light worked well in a number of the photos. And the German biplane looked pretty good as well.

A thoroughly absorbing read.

Cheers, Keith.

Blimey that reply was quick Keith! I'm glad you enjoyed it but Craig is too blame for the BALTI and SAGLOO units, not meGrin.

Cracking batrep Steve - that's a really lovely table (and those biplanes are superb...might need to look at picking a couple of them up Cool)

Nicely done - I've got some odd days off here & there in the next few weeks so fingers-crossed that the action kicks off in West Somerset Smile

Thanks for all the nice comments guys, much appreciatedBlush. I do enjoy putting the reports together but they always take longer than playing the actual game!

Nicely done Steve & Craig!

Will the AotSV get a chance to burn down Ashton Gate? That would be nice...Grin

I've never been drawn to AVBCW - but your site has piqued my interest.

I'm glad your interest has been piqued Todd. It really is an excuse to play games in your local area, with inter-war kit and to come up with nice background fluff for your forces. See the above for a case in point.

A trip to my local library provided lots of local history for me to use re: fluff but also educated me on the areas recent (past 100 years) past. Worth giving it a go IMHO.

I'm firmly committed to not going into anymore scales, and found AVBCW just seemed a bit daft. Now I keep reading batreps, then flicking through Pendrakens site, and wondering whether I should do a bit of local research!

Like Todd and Toxicpixie I was never that fussed about AVBCW, but I find myself increasingly drawn to it, and wondering what forces Huddersfield's history might inspire. Once I get the next batch of WWII stuff out of the way perhaps....

Do the research and see if it grabs you. In a sense it is a very British version of the SCW, but with a good dose of historical 'plausibility' thrown in.

I've been getting enthused by this as well, and have found that there is a load of pontially useful info at my local library (which has a Cheltenham Local History area) and the Gloucester Archives. I've even found a letter detailing the sale of my great-uncle's farm in 1939! (potentailly - I haven' seen the document yet - I just know it's there...)

It's very cool discovering a connection to the place I live... Grin
