Hello
so this the short story : (I hope it is a decent text ;-) )
We based this campaign on the Dniepr crossing, before Tcherkassy-Korsun
We decided to use "tables" instead of hex. (
http://2d6.fr/?p=3097 ) and I browsed the internet for some real maps, and turned these to "tables". The first battles will be on the lower row.
Then we decided the budget :
- The GERMAN will use 14,000 points. He can use from 2,000 to 2,500 pts maximum for each table. ( some tables may be empty)
- The RUSSIAN will use 21,000 pts, from 2,500 to 4,000 for each table. He also may hold 4,000 pts (or less) in a reserve for exploitation.
We allocated our points using the lists from the rules ( and from others OB to keep it even more historical )
While doing this, we had 3 closed questions to the other player ( some yes/no questions) : ie. "Will you use more than 2,300 pts on the table x ?" or "will you use more than 750 pts of tank on table y" ...
( very interesting, as it also revealed our interests..)
Then as the attacker, I choose the 1st battle. We agreed on the scenario for the setup, based on what we were expecting : Deliberate attack.
We may have some reinforcements, but not sure. The german, while going back ( despite Hitler's orders ?! ) may use some engineers to build some hasty defences. He had to buy in the beginning the strongest defences
I hope we'll have the 2nd game on sunday
