I just ran another Normandy scenario this month. Canadians vs 12th SS Germans defending Buron, July 8, 1944.

I was worried that the scenario was too tough for the Germans to hold Buron (Canadian objective), but they ended up winning the battle. I had playtested it a bunch of times and the Canadians always won. I did not expect the Canadian players to decide to attack right up the middle through the toughest German defenses, but they also did not roll well. Fun game had by all.

Maybe the shortest distance to the center of town was not a great idea. Smoke each turn rather than artillery on the entrenched Germans would have helped. It could have been worse for the Canadians, the Germans originally planned to place most of units in the center.

If the failure with breakpoint was not met, the Germans would have lost, there was not much left to stop the Canadian tanks.
